Ergo Baby Carrier | New Generation Ergo Baby Carriers
REVIEW SHOWS ERGO BABY CARRIER HAS FAITHFUL FOLLOWING
New parents shopping for a baby carrier can certainly be forgiven if they find themselves confused. It is an important choice and the selection of baby carriers available today can be intimidating. Parents must consider baby safety, comfort for both baby and parent, ease of use, and durability, to name just some concerns.
Though helpful, listening to other parents give their differing viewpoints and describing their varying baby carrier experiences can also leave consumers scratching their heads. Despite the diversity of opinion, however, many parents profess an unusually strong appreciation, even devotion, to the Ergo Baby Carrier.
Parents often compare the Ergo Baby Carrier to another leading brand, the Baby Bjorn. And a look at some parents very recent baby carrier reviews reveals the Ergo carrier does more than hold its own.
A review of parental opinions posted in chat rooms and review websites shows consumers are particularly pleased with the Ergo Baby Carrier's ability to distribute weight evenly and comfortably.
S. Delgado, of New York City, wrote, "on light errands [the Baby Bjorn is] ok. After some extensive research and trying several carriers I ended up with the Ergo Baby Carrier. All the babys weight is on the hips (the way nature intended!) not the shoulders. Not to mention the shoulders are very padded."
Another parent on the same site agreed saying, "the Ergo Baby Carrier . . . solved all my problems. It is like a backpack that carries the baby either on your front or on your back. It fully supports the baby (not by the crotch as some carriers do - it holds him in a sitting position) so that both your hands are free . . . The Ergo carrier has a simple design and is easy to put on and put the baby into . . . I highly recommend the Ergo Baby Carrier."
Colorado mom, S. Forsyth, who has tried both the Baby Bjorn and the Ergo Baby Carrier, leaves no doubt about her preference. She writes, "When our baby was first born we thought the [Baby Bjorn] was great. But after about 10 weeks it went in the cupboard and never came out."
Despite being an experienced backpacker, Forsyth claimed she wasn't comfortable carrying her baby for more than ten minutes before discovering the Ergo. "We searched around and eventually bought an Ergo Baby Carrier and have never looked back. The Ergo is the best thing since sliced bread!" she gushed.
A 2006 review by another Colorado parent, T. Garton, who describes herself as "short and fairly petite" summed up the experience of many parents. After trying other recommended carriers she began to experience neck and back pain. She wrote, "I decided that this would never work. I bought an Ergo baby carrier and we both love it."
